Encore is a group for men and women who are nearing retirement, recently retired, or semi-retired. The group's purpose is to explore how we can honor God in this stage of life.
Many people approaching retirement find themselves rethinking how to live with purpose and meaning. Social scientist Arthur Brooks addresses these questions in his 2022 bestseller From Strength to Strength. Drawing from Psalm 84:7, he offers insights on shifting focus and adapting to changes in order to find deeper happiness and fulfillment. He summarizes the book’s message with seven words: Use things. Love people. Worship the Divine.
The meeting will include a video interview with Arthur Brooks and small group discussions. Reading the book in advance is encouraged but not required.
