This week’s Ash Wednesday marked the beginning of Lent, the penitential season that marks 40 days leading up to Holy Week, capped by our celebration of Jesus’s resurrection on Easter Sunday.

We welcome the Trinity Christian College Choir singing with us today. Trinity Christian College a private Christian college in Palos Heights, Illinois. It was founded in 1959 by a group of Chicago businessmen who wanted to establish a college providing students with a Christian higher education in a Reformed tradition as a college in Illinois. CHURCH-WIDE PINEWOOD DERBY | WED MAR 20
Design and compete with your own Pinewood Derby car on Wednesday, March 20. Weigh-ins start at 6 pm and the races begin at 7 pm. You can purchase a car kit for $5 at the Elmhurst Church office or Welcome Center and pick up rules for building your Pinewood Derby Car. Come prepared to show off your creation and face off against other participants!

ENCORE COMMUNITY | MAR 12 | 7 PM
Save the date for Encore! This group is designed for men and women within a few years of retirement as well as those that have retired or semi-retired within the last number of years. There are many questions that come at that stage of life, including “What is my purpose?” and “How do I best honor God in my life transition?” We believe there is a real benefit for us to wrestle with these questions with the help of others. ALPHA YOUTH SERIES Next Meeting Sunday, February 25
Six-week sessions engaging in conversations about life, faith, prayer, and Jesus. We’ll be there – come try it for six weeks! Next meeting: Sunday, Feb 25, 5- 7 pm.

SPRINGHILLDAY CAMP - PAID COUNSELOR POSITIONS
SpringHill Day Camp is hiring local counselors aged 16 and up for the week that they are at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, June 24-28. You will have the amazing opportunity to lead a group of ten elementary-aged campers in Bible study, high adventure activities, fun games, and more. You will be needed Sunday evening-Friday afternoon and paid $200. SERVANTS ON STANDBY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Can you help someone now and then? ECRC's Servants on Standby (SOS) provides non-monetary assistance to members/attendees who need some extra help with things such as minor home repairs, transportation needs, bike repairs, cleaning/clearing shelves, moving furniture, etc. If you are able to volunteer from time to time, please contact the Deacon Coordinator at sos@elmhurstcrc.org to get involved or sign up at elmhurstcrc.org/sos.

DIRECTOR OF WORSHIP
With gratitude to God, the SLT is pleased to announce that Erin Pacheco has accepted the Director of Worship position at Elmhurst CRC. Erin will begin her new role with us on March 11 and will be in worship services starting Sunday, March 17. Please pray for Erin and her family during this significant time of transition, especially as Erin concludes her responsibilities at Trinity Christian College and Hope CRC in Oak Forest.

Caring Network’s Baby Bottle Drive 2024 begins on Sanctity of Life Sunday, January 21! Pick up a baby bottle, fill it with coins, and return to back to church. Caring Network of DuPage provides free pregnancy consultations and services to help families overcome challenges – and choose life! Return full bottles by February 18. Online giving info at HERE.

WINTER HYMN SING – Everyone is invited to a Winter Hymn Sing at The Western Springs Christian Reformed Church (5140 Wolf Road) led by The Men of A-Chord on Sunday, February 18, at 5:00 pm. The Men of A-Chord has been singing God’s praises to local churches, retirement homes and high schools for 70 years. A free-will offering will be accepted. Refreshments will be served after the hymn sing. Don’t miss this night of worship and fellowship!
