WORSHIP GUIDE

THIS WEEKEND IN WORSHIP:

Sunday Worship,
Message Title: What is Your God Like?
Main text: Acts 17:24-28
Main idea: When Paul finds himself in a city full of idols, he engages the Athenians in a discussion about the one true God. He addresses their "religious ignorance" by telling them about the Unknown God written on one of their altars. Because we are made in the image of the God we worship, it's really important that we are not worshipping a god made in our own image.
Main takeaway: Seek Him, grope for Him, because you don't know God through explanations or expressions, but through experience.

Car question: _________ @JK

Key verse for worship guide: Acts 17:27
God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. (NIV)

WALK THROUGH THE BIBLE SPRING GUIDE

What's New

PHISHING, SPAM EMAILS… AND HOW TO STAY SAFE
We’ve seen an increase in phishing and spam emails circulating in our community over the past couple of weeks, and some members and friends have been affected.

These messages may look like invitations (Evite, Punchbowl) or official requests (such as e-signature emails), and can even appear to come from someone you know—or from church staff.

Please use caution when receiving unexpected emails—especially those sent outside normal office hours, requesting information, or coming from a service the church does not typically use. If something seems off, it probably is. Contact the sender through another trusted method (such as a phone call or text) to confirm the message is legitimate.

You can continue to expect regular emails from us. For example, Planning Center / Church Center messages sent to volunteers are safe and will not ask for your Google login or other personal information.

VBS Volunteer Round-Up
Yee-Haw! VBS is just around the corner, and we’re rounding up volunteers. Consider opportunities as drivers, counselors, food prep and more! Details Here.

TRY IT OUT!
This summer, Children’s Worship for preschoolers and kindergarteners invites you to “try out” volunteering as a small group leader! If you’ve been interested in serving with children but aren’t ready to make a long-term commitment, this is a great opportunity to give it a try. Children’s Worship takes place during the Sunday service, beginning after the worship portion. Children head downstairs to the large group area to hear a Bible story and engage together. Then, they break into small groups for about 20 minutes. As a leader, you would read the Bible story, guide a craft, and lead two simple games. We are especially in need of leaders in June, August, and September. If you’re available for two Sundays this summer and would like to “try out” Children’s Worship, please reach out to Kristin Reitsma!

Volunteer in the Children's Library
Children's Library - We are looking for four volunteers, 12 and older, to work in the children's library from 11:00-11:20 once a month on Sunday mornings. You would shelve returned books and check out books for little kids. If you are interested please email [email protected].
