Pathfinders is an exciting ministry for 1st - 3rd Grade boys. The name is based on Psalm 119:105: "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."
Boys learn about God through Bible stories and grow in their faith by memorizing Bible verses and learning practical ways to carry out God's Word. A typical night begins with game time followed by large group time to review our theme verse and song and to review Bible verses. The boys are then dismissed to their small groups, which are divided by grade level. During small group time, the boys use their Bibles to read the week's Bible story and work on Bible memory.
Also during small group time the boys use their Pathfinders handbooks to learn about new skills and fun activities. These include developing outdoor or carpentry skills, learning about the environment, or helping around the home.
Pathfinders meets September through April on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. The sessions are at 6:15-7:45 p.m. in the lower west wing of the church. The program is open to all 1st-to-3rd-grade boys in the community, and boys can join at any time during the year.
