Caryn Rivadeneira has been a member of ECRC for most of her life and loves the church like family. Although she’s a big fan of many of the things that happen in and around and through church, Caryn’s hands-down favorite thing about church is Sunday morning worship. Caryn believes there is nothing quite like a group of people from all walks of life, coming off of all sorts of weeks, wrestling all sorts of demons, weary under all sorts of loads gathering to sing and listen and pray and just be in God’s presence and bask in God’s grace together. This is one of the reasons Caryn is thrilled to be part of the worship staff at ECRC.
In addition to her role at church, Caryn is a writer, speaker, and co-founder and vice-president of Redbud Writers Guild. She’s the author of Grumble Hallelujah: Learning to Love Life When It Lets You Down (Tyndale House, 2011) and Mama’s Got a Fake I.D.: How to Reveal the Real You Behind All that Mom (Waterbrook, 2009) and has two other books set for release in 2013.
During her time as editor of Marriage Partnership, Christian Parenting Today, and the Gifted for Leadership blog and in her years as a writer, Caryn has written hundreds of blog posts and magazine articles. Caryn is a regular contributor to Christianity Today’s Her.Meneutics blog, Today’s Christian Woman, and Re:Frame Media’s Think Christian blog. Caryn is also a regular guest on Moody Radio’s Midday Connection.
Caryn lives in Elmhurst with her husband, three kids, one pit bull, three hermit crabs, and lots and lots of fish.
