Hi, I'm the new Youth Coordinator.
Bobby is excited to step into full-time ministry at Elmhurst CRC, with a particular passion for investing in students and helping them develop a faith that is alive, active, and rooted in the gospel. He desires to help create an environment of gospel-fluent students—young people who know the good news of Jesus and can see it come alive in their own hearts, homes, and communities.
His journey toward ministry has been shaped by a number of experiences. As a camp chaplain at Camp Manitoqua in Frankfort, IL, Bobby grew in his calling to ministry and learned how to communicate the truths of the gospel with young people and the broader community. Before coming to Elmhurst CRC, he served as a youth intern at Palos Heights CRC, where he experienced the impact of diving into the life of a local church, loving its congregation, and intentionally investing in students. That experience shaped the lives of the students he worked with while also deeply transforming his own understanding of ministry. At Trinity Christian College, Bobby also served on the worship and spiritual life team, gaining experience planning, leading, and creating worship spaces where college students could gather and worship together.
A resident of the Chicagoland area, Bobby attended IC Catholic Prep before earning a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and Communication Arts from Trinity Christian College. During college, he began asking more seriously what he was being called to do after graduation. Through conversations, prayer, and discernment—and especially through his experience as a camp chaplain—Bobby came to recognize ministry as the path God was leading him toward. His experiences working with youth confirmed that this is where he wants to invest his time and energy, and he is excited about the opportunity to help spiritually build the next generation at Elmhurst CRC. In the coming years, he plans to pursue a Master of Divinity as a part-time seminary student while continuing his ministry at ECRC.
Outside of ministry, there are plenty of ways to get to know Bobby. He is a musician and has played bass guitar for 13 years, so you may spot him on the Worship Team. He loves being active and doing hands-on activities, but he also appreciates a good opportunity to sit down and relax. He has played basketball since third grade and is always looking for a pickup game. He has also loved the outdoors and nature since childhood, and enjoys kayaking, fishing, and exploring woodlands, shorelines, and mountains. His favorite superheroes are Batman and Spider-Man. And a fun family fact: Bobby is the only ginger!
