God’s heart breaks for the hungry, hurting and lost no matter where they live. His love knows no boundaries—and neither should ours. Which is why we at ECRC have committed to providing opportunities to share God’s love and to share his blessings with others around the globe. We encourage members and friends to connect with God’s children from all ends of the earth through long- and short-term missions trips or by getting to know, support and pray for our missionary partners.
Adult Mission Trips
Adults have the opportunity to take mission trips throughout the year. Recent trips included a week in New Orleans working with those still displaced by Hurricane Katrina. In September 2009, ECRC members worked with the Tapestries of Life organization to complete a Mexican orphanage and distribute food and supplies to those in need in the area.

Our Associate Pastors
In addition to our missionary partners, please also remember the associate pastors of Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church in their mission work.
John Hoekwater serves as pastor of Many Peoples Church, a small and growing Christian Church with a community emphasis in the Rogers Park area in Chicago. John and his wife, Ruth, are co-proprietors of The Common Cup, an independent coffee shop next door to the church whose proceeds are donated to a non-profit organization that benefits the residents of Rogers Park neighborhood.
Lee Smits is a chaplain at Loyola Medical Center. He is the only full-time Protestant Chaplain in this Roman Catholic institution.
Serguei Sossedkine is a Russian radio broadcaster for Back to God Ministries International. He joined our church in 2002.
The Mission Team exists to develop missions as a core value of our church and to act as the liaison between our church and the missionaries we support financially and through prayer. We do these things for the purpose of helping anyone touched by this ministry take the next steps toward becoming more like Jesus Christ. For questions about our missionaries or to join the team.
