Sisters Helping Each Other

A Support Group for Single Mothers

Our Mission is to serve the needs of single mothers through education, networking, social activities, volunteerism, skill building and more. We believe in families helping families by sharing information and resources whenever possible.

We are about our future - our children. We are about the family, and courage it takes to face the day-to-day challenges of raising healthy and happy children as a single parent.

We are about faith - belief in our creator and in His ability to move the mountains in our lives in order to live a more Godly life and be an example to our children.

Updated resource information is distributed monthly to each person concerning community resources for single mothers: legal service, food pantries, counselors and more.

Sisters Helping Each Other meetings are held once a month from September through May on Sundays from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the Garden Room of the Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church (directions).  At each meeting, you will enjoy a meal with your children, and then childcare will be provided during the speaker portion.  Lunch, meetings and childcare are free! We also do a special event Picnic during the summer and a movie night in the winter.
