Coffee Break Bible Study is a place where people who have never opened a Bible—as well as those who have a lot of experience—can feel comfortable to share and to learn about God and what he desires for them. Each daytime session begins with a large-group presentation, which includes the use of media, music, drama and stories. This is followed by small group study, sharing, and prayer. Each small group is directed by a trained leader. All Coffee Break leaders are devoted to helping women have a positive experience by encouraging an environment of caring and developing a sense of belonging.
Coffee Break uses of materials that study the Bible directly rather than someone's interpretation of the Bible. There is also an emphasis on finding ways to apply the Bible to everyday life.
Coffee Break is not just for women! There are Wednesday evening groups for men and women together, as well as for women only.
Coffee Break meets from September through April, and participants can enroll in one of four weekly time slots: Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9-11:00 a.m.; Wednesday afternoons from 12:30-2:30 p.m.; and Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m.
Coffee Break meets on the second floor education wing of the church. Nursery care is provided for the morning sessions.
Many parents also enroll their preschool children in Little Lambs, which meets during the same times. To register for Little Lambs, call Jane Loerop at 630-833-0170.
