The idea of visiting a church or worship service can feel a little overwhelming, especially if you are not used to church or have not been in a while. We hope these Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Sunday mornings help ease your mind and let you know what to expect.
Where are you located and when do you gather?
We are located at 149 West Brush Hill Road in Elmhurst, just west of the new Elmhurst Hospital, and we gather on Sunday mornings at 9 and 10:30 am. Check out our Time & Location page to learn more.
What are your services like?
Our Sunday morning gatherings are heartfelt and celebrate the old and new with singing together, responsive readings and a practical everyday message. You might hear traditional hymns (9 am) or current praise songs (10:30 am) – all with a focus on God. Our preaching is centered on the work of Jesus Christ for us and connects the message of the Bible to our everyday lives.
To help follow along with the service, an order of worship is made available each week. Screens are available with songs and words to make it easy follow along. You can see & hear some of our services online.
What should I wear?
The dress here is diverse and varied based on individual preferences. Some people wear business or business casual (like khakis and button downs) while others wear jeans, shorts and flip flops. Please wear what is comfortable to you.
What about my kids?
We love kids! We welcome and encourage families to worship together on Sunday mornings.
However, we provide a safe and secure nursery care (infant-36 months) during the Sunday morning services. And, a children’s worship experience in an age-appropriate environment for ages 3-5th grade during the service. If you would like to keep your infant or preschooler with you in the service, please do. If your little one needs to move around a bit, the lobby, the Java Stop coffee shop and the main west entrance hallway are available for that purpose and the sermon message will be shown on the TV monitors located there. We also provide children’s bulletins with message activities for your child to help keep them occupied during the service. For children who are nursing there is a mother’s room located by the nursery entrance for newborns and their parents. If you have further questions, please stop by the Information Center or the Nursery Desk.
The first Sunday of every month is designated as a Family Sunday; we invite the whole family to stay together and participate in intergenerational worship.
Is your facility ADA-accessible?
